Rajagiriya Flyover Causes More Traffic? Motorists Complain They Were Crawling On Flyover This Morning

Twitter was flooded with complaints this morning that the newly constructed flyover in Rajagiriya had not contributed to easing the traffic.

Many motorists who travel daily to Colombo complained on @road.lk that traffic congestion was even worse on Parliament road this morning.

"It was crawling on the flyover. Traffic levels are as high as ever in Kotte," Raditha Dissanayake, a motorist, said.

'The usual traffic in Battaramulla.I mean really? What's the point of having the longest flyover in Sri Lanka," Lakshi Pathberiya added.

Randula N W quipped, "That awkward moment when the new flyover (built to lessen traffic) causes even more traffic congestion.'

President Maithripala Sirisena, opening the flyover yesterday, said the highway was constructed at a cost of Rs. 4 billion as a long term solution to the traffic congestion.
