Two Seniors To Handle 'Special Projects': Their Current Responsibilities To Be Transferred To 'Young Ministers'

February 21, 2018

Two senior ministers of the UNP holding high profile portfolios will be appointed as ministers of 'Special Projects' at the Cabinet reshuffle tomorrow, sources close to the Prime minister's office said.

Their current responsibilities will be given to 'young ministers', they further added.

The proposed Cabinet reshuffle is likely to take place tomorrow, at the Presidential Secretariat.

It will be the third reshuffle of the unity government's Cabinet, since its ascension to power in September, 2017.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe had told his party MPs that young ministers would get more responsibilities following the reshuffle. It was in line with his policy of building up the 'next generation leaders' within the UNP camp.
