Mahela Flatly Turns Down Offer To Join Cricket Administration Saying He No Longer Has Faith In System

Former Sri Lankan skipper Mahela Jayawardena flatly turned down the Sports Minister's request to join Sri Lanka's cricket administration.

In a hard-hitting tweet, the former captain said he no longer had faith in the country's cricket administration.

"With all due respect to the selectors & the sports minister i have spent 1 year in the cricket committee & 6 months in a special advisory committee & no recomendations were implimented. I dont have any trust in the system. If any one wants to buy time please dont use us!," Jayawardena tweeted last evening.

SLC earlier requested Sports Minister Faiszer Mustapha to appoint Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakkara, Aravinda de Silva and Roshan Mahanama as consultants to the SLC.

SLC has also requested the Minister to appoint Muttiah Muralidaran as a spin bowling coach to help the bowling attack of the Sri Lankan cricket team.
