Amaraweera Says He Will Be Happy To See Arjuna Mahendran Coming Back To SL With PM From Singapore

UPFA General Secretary Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said he would be happy if Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe brought back former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran from Singapore.

The Prime Minister is currently in Singapore attending a global conference representing Sri Lanka.

Amaraweera, while speaking to media today, said the government would not allow the former Central Bank Governor to escape.

"He will not be allowed to abscond the judiciary. He will be brought back to Sri Lanka somehow," Amaraweera said.

The Minister added that the commitment to uphold law and order was the uniqueness of the current government and its leader President Maithripala Sirisena.

"The prime suspect in a corruption case that took place under our administration is already in remand," he added, referring to the Treasury Bonds fiasco.
