Former Sri Lankan President To Address A Public Meeting In New Delhi At Invitation Of Subramaniam Swamy

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is to attend a public meeting in New Delhi on September 12.

The speech will be made at the invitation of Subramaniam Swamy, the President of the Virat Hindustan Sangam and a close ally of the former President of Sri Lanka.

"Fmr. Sri Lanka President and architect of wiping out terrorists in his country, has accepted my invitation extended by me as President of the Virat Hindustan Sangam, to address a public meeting in New Delhi on Sept 12th. All patriotic Indians welcome to attend," Swamy tweeted, a short while ago.

Swamy, a seasoned politician, was elected Member of Parliament 5 times between 1974 and 1999. He has twice represented the city of Mumbai North East during 1977 and 1980, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu in the Parliament.

He strongly supported former President Rajapaksa during the final phase of war with the LTTE.
