Two Suspicious Spectators Detained Over Match Fixing At Domestic T20 League: Is Ex-Captain Too In Hot Water?

Sri Lanka Cricket's Anti-corruption Unit yesterday detained two Indian spectators during the domestic T20 league match played at Pallekele today.

The match was played between Team Kandy and Team Colombo.

Cricket authorities previously said several suspicious individuals were seen in the stands during the T20 league tournament in Sri Lanka.

A SLC spokesman said further investigations were underway into the incidents and the footage of the match was being closely monitored.

Meanwhile, a state-run newspaper, in a separate incident, reported that a former Sri Lankan cricket captain was under investigations by the Anti-corruption unit of the ICC.

The report, which was not attributed to any source, said three phones used by the cricketer had been detained by the ICC for further investigations.

Our sources with the SLC, however, said they were not in a position to confirm the story about the former Sri Lankan captain.
