Decisions By New Government: Appointment Of Siriwardena As Inland Revenue Commissioner Cancelled: Fuel Price Formula Discontinued

The first Cabinet meeting of the new government held today with the participation of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, spokesman of the new government Mahinda Samarasinghe said. 

All Cabinet members who took oaths as minister attended the meeting today, held at the Presidential Secretariat. 

The first decision of the new Cabinet, he said, was to cancel the appointment of C.P.J. Siriwardena, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, as the Inland Revenue Commissioner. 

Meanwhile, addressing another press conference, UPFA MP Dullas Alahapperuma said the fuel price formula, introduced by the previous government, would be discontinued.
