SL-CERT Under Fire Over Employee Engaging In Cyberbullying And HateSpeech: No Action Taken Despite Constant Alarms

SL-CERT CC, a state-run agency combatting technology-related violence in Sri Lanka, has come under fire for not taking action on one of its employees engaging in cyberbullying and hate-speech. 

Many social media activists have sounded the alarm about Poorna Chathura Wickremasinghe, a worker at SL-CERT, who have posted racist, sexist and derogatory comments on social media, in spite of his involvement in SL-CERT. 

According to Linkedin profile, Wickremasinghe works as an Information Security Analyst at SL-CERT CC. 

His Linkedin profile also indicated that the person under question works closely with critical law enforcement bodies such as the Terrorist Investigations Department (TID).

Those who complained about SL-CERT employee also added that the organization had continuously disregarded complaints against the employ's behavior. 

SL-CERT CC is yet to make a statement explaining its position on the online behavior of its employee.
