President Sirisena's Newly Appointed Private Secretary Indicted Under Computer Crimes Act: Case Fixed For February 28

A case filed against President Maithripala Sirisena's newly-appointed Private Secretary Janaka Ranawaka will be taken up in Colombo High Court on February 28.

Ranawaka has been inducted by the Attorney General for securing unauthorized access to former Deputy Mayor of Kotte Madhura Vithana's computer database in 2013.

Ranawaka has been prosecuted under the Computer Crimes Act.

Ranawaka, a former Rakapaksa supporter, was appointed the Private Secretary to President Sirisena, last week.

On Tuesday, Ranawaka carried out a major poster campaign in Colombo describing Sirisena as a "true lion" while congratulating the President on the fourth anniversary of his inauguration.
