Thewarapperuma Defies Prime Minister's Order: Launches Another Scathing Attack On Fonseka And Vows To Unseat Him In Pariliament

Defying an order by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Deputy Minister Palitha Thewarapperuma launched another scathing attack on former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka during a meeting in the Kalutara district.

Prime Minister Wickremesinghe last week ordered Thewarapperuma and Fonseka to refrain from criticising each other before media.

Following the Prime Minister's order, the verbal spat between the two UNP MPs came to a temporary halt.

Thewarapperuma was the first to defy the Prime Minister's order yesterday when he described Fonseka as a "lunatic" who did not have any right to represent the legislature.

The UNP Parliamentarian said he would file a court case seeking to unseat Fonseka from Parliament.

Thewarapperuma also added that Fonseka had no right to criticize UPFA MPs such as Wimal Weerawansa and Udaya Gammanpila who obtained more votes than Fonseka at the last Parliamentary election.

Severely criticizing the former Army Commander turned UNP MP, Thewarapperuma likened Fonseka to a jackal.
