"Are There Cocaine Users Among Cabinet Ministers?": Rajapaksa-affiliated Group Lodges Police Complaint Demanding Probe On Ranjan's Remarks

A group affiliated with the Sri Lanka Podujana Party today lodged a Police complaint requesting a probe on Cabinet ministers allegedly using Cocaine. 

Premanath C. Dolawatte, a lawyer close to the Rajapaksa family and the convenor of the 'Sathya Gaveshakayo' organization, lodged a complaint with the Police headquarters requesting a probe on the matter. 

Dolawatte, quoting Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayake said there were Cocaine users among the Cabinet members and that Ramanayake's statement received wide publicity from the media. 

"The public has a right to know if there are Cocaine users among the Cabinet of ministers, as claimed by Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayake. Only the Police can ascertain the truth of this remark," Dolawatte said. 

The lawyer requested the Police to initiate an inquiry based on the Deputy Minister's statement using the provisions of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
