Unmasked: Popular Health Food Chain In Colombo Raided By Public Health Inspectors: Rotten Food And Food Stored Unhygienically Found

Popular restaurant ‘Calorie Counter by Duaine Peiris’ was raided by Public Health Inspectors recently where they found rotten food stored in the fridge and other food, vegetables and meat items stored unhygienically.

Calorie Counter is very popular with health and fitness aficionados as it promises fresh, healthy food with the mantra ‘Eat Healthy, Stay Healthy.’

The results of the raid came as a surprise to all those that frequent the restaurants that are on prime locations in Colombo 7, Colombo 5, Pelawatte and Galle.

This is not the first time a top restaurant in Colombo has been exposed this way: last month, maggots were found in food served at China Street Foods at the Food Studio Atrium at the plush new Colombo City Centre.
