Tourism Development and Christian Affairs Minister John Amaratunga said a controversial picture featuring him which is currenly being circulated in social media was a fabricated one. 

Amaratunga also added that he had requested the Police to probe the individuals originating and disseminating the fabricated picture. 

"There is a fabricated photoshop picture that is circulating on social media to embarrass me over a stand I took recently . I have asked the authorities to investigate and identify the people involved in circulating the picture." Amaratunga said in a Facebook statement yesterday. 

This was the second time a controversial picture featuring the 78-year-old was circulated on social media platforms within a year.
