UNP Decides To Offer Electoral Organizer Posts For Five SLFP MPs Who Pledged Support To Government

The UNP has decided to offer electoral organizer posts for five SLFP MPs who support the government in Parliament.

The decision was made at the UNP Working Committee meeting yesterday. A group of SLFP MPs pledged support to the government last year, after the resolution of the 51-day political crisis.

The SLFP MPs who joined the government continues to identified them as "UNPers".

The Working Committee also decided to remove inactive inactive Working Committee members from their posts and appoint more energetic organizations to strengthen the party machinery.

The move has been made just months before a crucial Presidential election.
