UNP Parliamentarian Shantha Abeysekera's son has been arrested by the Police for assaulting a Constable attached to the Ministerial Security Division (MSD).

The arrest was made after the MP's son surrendered himself to the Police this morning over the same incident.

It was alleged that the MP's son assaulted the police officer following a heated argument. The policeman was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment and the police launched an immediate investigation into the incident.
