President Sirisena Says Easter Sunday Attacks Linked To International Drug Network: Adds EU Attempting To Interfere With Sri Lanka's Sovereignty

President Maithripala Sirisena said the Easter Sunday explosions was linked to the international drug networks.

Speaking at a drug eradication event in Colombo, President Sirisena linked to the desdliest terrorist attack in the region to the international drug traffickers.

The President's remarks came a week after SLMC Leader Rauff Hakeem said that the Islamic State (IS) was not linked to the Easter Sunday explosions.

The former Minister said "an unseen hand" is behind the explosions which claimed the lives of over 250 people.

The President also said the EU has said it will slash GSP+ tax concessions if Sri Lanka implements the death penalty. "It amounts to a threat, and interference with a sovereign state, " the President added.
