National Thowheed Jamaath Colombo District Organizer Mohammed Fawas Released On Bail By Colombo Magistrate: Passport Impounded

National Thowheed Jamaath Organizations Colombo District Organizer Mohammed Fawas was released on two sureties of Rs. 500000 by Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne this morning.

The suspect was arrested for possessing CDs and documents belonging to the National Thowheed Jamaath organization in the aftermath of the Eatser Sunday attacks. The National Thowheed Jamaath was among the three extremist orgaizations that were banned under the emergency regulations under the Emergency Regulations

The Attorney General's Department said it had no objections over releasing the suspect on bail.

However, the Colombo Chief Magistrate decided to impound his passport and fixed the case for September 24.
