Cardinal Launches Scathing Attack On Presidential Candidates: Says No One Should Come To Meet Him Without Publicising Reports On Terror Attacks

Colombo Archbishop Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith launched a scathing attack on Presidential candidates and told them not to come for discussions with him before publicizing reports on the Easter Sunday attacks.

Addressing the media, Cardinal Ranjith said the investigations into Easter Sunday attacks were not done in a transparent manner and those responsible were not held to account.

"Everyone who was responsible for the Easter Sunday attack should be punished but I cannot see that happening. What happened to the reports on the attack and those responsble? Why weren't they made public?" Cardinal Ranjith asked.

The Archbishop dismissed the claims that he was trying to support the political agenda of one group.

"I don't have political affiliations. My party is the people's party and I want justice for the people," he added.
