Parliament Extends Term Of Parliamentary Select Committee Probing Easter Sunday Attacks Until September 30

Parliament has extended the term of the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) probing Easter Sunday attacks until September 30.

The report of the Parliamentary Select Committee is expected to be presented to Parliament in November, informed political sources said.

Many witnesses, including Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and former Law and Order Ministers Sagala Ratnayaka and Ranjith MAdduma Bandara, have given evidence before the PSC.

The PSC will also make a request to President Maithripala Sirisena who also serves as the Cabinet Minister of Defence to make a statement before the PSC.
