Uva Chief Minister Chamara Sampath Dassanayake Vows To Stand On His Head If Gotabhaya Rajapaksa Turns Up At SLPP Rally In Badulla

Chief Minister of the Uva Provincial Council Chamara Sampath Dassanayake said he would stand on his head near the Badulla clock tower if SLPP Presidential candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa attends the SLPP rally in the area.

Dassanayake, a supporter of President Maithripala Sirisena, said there were posters across Badulla confirming Rajapaksa would attend the SLPP inaugural rally in the area.

The rally is a part of the SLPP' propaganda drive before the upcoming Presidential election.

"The former Defence Secretary will never turn up in the rally. I weigh 125 kilos and I will stand on my head if he does so,' Dassanayake said.

The Chief Minister said posters containing "false information" was a desperate attempt to draw crowds for the SLPP rally.
