Prime Minster Ranil Wickremesinghe has directed several senior leaders of the prarty to prepare for the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha election which will precede the Presidential election.

Wickremesinghe, who returned from a visit to the Maldives yesterday, has held several meetings with UNP Chairman Kabir Hashim, General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam and Minister Vajira Abeywardena.

The Prime Minister has also convened a meeting with Minister Gayantha Karunathilake, UNP Chief Organizer for Benthara-Elpitiya.

The election for the Pradeshiya Sabha will take place in October.
