Man Who Was Slapped By "Wariyapola Girl" Now Complains Of Hearing Problems

Robert Dansalage Chandra Kumara alias Selva, who was slapped by a girl at the at the Wariyapola bus stand has admitted himself to Wariyapola hospital complaining of hearing problems.

“Two or three days after the incident, I realized I had hearing problems. So I admitted myself to Wariyapola Hospital and I am still undergoing treatments,” he said.

“I don’t know whether this will result in a long term hearing problem,” Selva added.

Selva, who was slapped by a girl for passing innuendos at her, is a resident of Wariyapola and a father of two. Speaking to media following the incident he said he did not say anything offensive to the girl and was just highlighting the fact that her  dress was inappropriate. 

However, the girl said the man was passing remarks over the “holes” on her dress.

Selva said his family too has abandoned him after the incident and he has difficulties in finding jobs.

“I don’t have a permanent job and I do odd-jobs from time to time. As a result of this incident, people do not offer me jobs thinking I was responsible for the whole incident,” he lamented.

Wariyapola Police has also recorded a statement from him over the incident.
