Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade Malik Samarawickrema has been made the campaign manager of UNP Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa.

Samarawickrema, formerly a close confidante of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, later aligned himself as a supporter of Sajith Premadasa.

He is also a former Chairman of the UNP.

Informed party sources also added that former UNP General Secretary would be entrusted with a key responsibility at the newly-campaign office in Colombo 02.
