Cabinet Approves Cabinet Paper Allowing President Sirisena To Use Paget Road House As His Official Residence After Retirement

The Cabinet of Ministers yesterday gave approval to President Maithripala Sirisena to use his current residence as his official residence after retirement.

The Cabinet paper pertaining to the matter was taken up at the Cabinet meeting yesterday at the Presidential Secretariat.

The President chose a large house at Paget Road as his residence after becoming the President, as he refused to live in the President's official residence in Colombo 01. The Paget road residence was later expanded by annexing an adjacent ministerial residence.

Sirisena only used the official residence at Janadhipathi Mawatha for official purposes.
