Opposition Leader and SLPP Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa officially became a grandfather today.

Rajapaksa's youngest son, Rohitha Rajapaksa became a father today as his wife, Tatyana Jayaratne, gave birth to a son at a private hospital in Colombo early this morning.

Sources close to the family said Rajapaksa was present at the hospital to welcome his first grandchild to the family. A number of close friends and well-wishers were present at the hospital to congratulate the former President and his family on the arrival of their newest member.
