Elections Commission Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya said elections results in Badulla, Kegalle and Ratnapura districts could be delayed.

Deshapriya attributed the delay to a minor flood situation that occurred in the three districts earlier today.

"As a result, ballot boxes could not be transported to counting centres on time," he added.

Elections authorities are yet to release the first official result of the Presidential election.
