The Colombo Chief Magistrate today barred the Swiss Embassy worker, who was allegedly "abducted" by a group of unidentified people, from leaving the country until December 09.

The travel ban was imposed on the Embassy worker as she is yet to give a statement to the Police on the alleged incident.

However, the Swiss government, in a statement, said she was not in a position to give a statement to the Sri Lankan law enforcement authorities on "health grounds".

In the same statement, the Swiss government assured fullest cooperation with regard to the ongoing investigation.
