President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa today visited the Department of Motor Traffic in Werahera, Boralasgamuwa for a surprise inspection.

During the surprise inspection, the President was given a detailed account of malpractices and issues at the Department by those who had come to the office for various official purposes.

They complained to the President that they were being kept waiting for hours by the RMV officials, without swiftly attending to their requirements.

It was also revealed during the President's inspection that the commissioner assigned to the Werhera office had been away from the office.

The President directed the officials to resolve all their issues within a month. He said it was an ultimatum as he has already received a number of complaints with regard to the department's work.
