CID officers last night obtained a statement from former Minister Rajitha Senaratne who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Narahenpita.

Senaratne was admitted to the Cardiology Unit of the hospital yesterday due to a "sudden illness".

An arrest warrant has been issued on the former Minister by the Colombo Additional Magistrate over the controversial " white van" press conference before the last Presidential election.

Two individuals who appeared alongside Senaratne at the same press conference have already been arrested by the Police.
