JVP Requests Government To Release Ranjan Ramanayake's Recordings Through Government Info Department Without Wasting Public Money By Appointing Commissions

The Janatha Vimukthi Permuna requested the government to publicize all telephone recordings obtained from MP Ranjan Ramanayake via the Government Information Department.

Speaking to the media, former JVP MP Wasantha Samarasinghe said it would at least save public money. "If the government appoints a Presidential Commission, the public will have to beat the burden for that as well."

Samarasinghe said Ramanayake's telephone recordings have become an essential part of Sri Lanka's daily dose of entertainment. "As a result, all the burning issues concerning them have been neglected by the public."

'Therefore, it is a wiser solution for the government to release these clips through the Government Information Department rather than wasting more public money by appointing commissions, " he added.

The JVP members said a number of Presidential Commissions appointed by former President Maithripala Sirisena have not yielded any results.
