The UNP parliamentary group and UNF party leaders have endorsed Ranjith Madduma Bandara as the General Secretary of the UNP-led alliance.

Premadasa nominated Madduma Bandara as the General Secretary of the alliance earlier this week.

The decision, however, is yet to be ratified by the UNP Working Committee.

Madduma Bandara speaking to reporters earlier this week said all UNF party leaders unanimously agreed with Premadasa's decision to appoint him.
