Trade union activist Saman Rathnapriya today took oaths as a national list parliamentarian of the UNP.

Rathnapriya was appointed to the national list list position which was left vacant by Dr. Jayampathy Wickremaratne.

Rathnapriya is the head of a nurses union that supported the previous government.

Rathnapriya was also a part of the civil society movement which supported the UNP-led alliance.
