UPDATE: Former Sri Lankan Airlines CEO Kapila Chandrasena And Wife Remanded Till February 19 Over Airbus Deal: Bail Application Rejected

Former CEO of Sri Lankan Airlines Kapila Chandrasena and his wife have been remanded till February 19.

They surrendered themselves to the Criminal Investigations Department earlier today in connection with the controversial Airbus deal.

The bail application, filed by them, was rejected by the Magistrate.

The Attorney General previously instructed the CID to obtain an arrest warrant to arrest the two with regard to the investigation.

President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has ordered a full-scale investigation into the matter.

It is now revealed that the company has allegedly paid out a sum of 2 Million US dollars to the wife of the former SriLankan Airlines CEO to secure a deal.
