Heavy traffic reported in the Pelawatta area due to a protest by principals and teachers trade unions at the Pelawatta junction.

The Borella-Kottawa 174 bus route has been blocked due to the ongoing protest.

An all-island strike has also been announced by the teachers trade unions demanding solutions to their grievances.
