Nine New COVID-19 Cases Bring Local Tally To 844: 255 Have So Far Recovered

Nine new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Sri Lanka. This brings the total local tally to 844. However, of these 255 persons have recovered and been sent home.

This means the number of those actually afflicted with the virus currently is 580. 9 persons have died since the virus was first detected with a local person on March 10.

After close to two months of curfew, authorities are working to ease some restrictions and allow a semblance of normalcy to public life.

Curfew in Colombo, Gampaha, Kandy and Puttalam that has remained in place indefinitely will be eased to some degree on Monday, May 11.
