"Public And Private Sector Heads Briefed On How To Resume Operations Tomorrow: We Won't Allow A Massive Influx Of People Into Roads": Army Commander

Army Commander Lt. General Shavendra Silva said all heads of government and private sector have been advised on how to commence operations fter a two-month closure.

Addressing the press, the Army Commander said the government and heads of institutions had arrived at an understanding on how to proceed after reopening of the economy.

"Although work will resume tomorrow, we will not allow a massive influx of people into the road. Struct measures will be adopted for social distancing," Silva said.

He also added that only one-third of staff will be allowed in offices.

Government and private sectors have been asked to reopen offices tomorrow after a two-month lockdown.

Although the curfew will remain in the Western Province, people will be permitted to report to work.
