Elections Commission Prof. Ratnajeevan Hoole And Daughter Elilini Likely To Face Police Investigation For Violating Quarantine Laws

The Police are set to launch an inquiry into Elections Commission member Ratnajeevan Hoole and his daughter Elilini Hoole for violating quarantine regulations.

It was reported that Hoole brought his daughter, a returnee from the United Kingdom, to the Elections Commission office defying instructions to self-quarantine for 14 days.

Hoole's daughter was quarantined at a luxury hotel for 14 days upon her return to the country and was asked to self-quarantine at their Jaffna residence for two more weeks.

Informed Police sources said the Police will launch an inquiry to ascertain whether Hoole's daughter visited the commission office without undergoing self-quarantine.

They will also investigate whether she had a valid curfew pass when they visited the Elections Commission office.
