PCR Testing Facility To Be Installed At BIA As Sri Lanka Gears For Reopening Of Airport For Tourists On August 01

Tourism and Aviation Minister Prasanna Ranatunga a PCR testing facility would be installed at the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunaike.

He said all passengers coming into Sri Lanka would be subjected to PCR testing.

The Task Force on COVID19 has recommended to the President to reopen the airport on August 01 for tourists.

Ranatunga also added that a number of measures would be taken to ensure the safety of airport staff and those who work for airlines.

Minister Ranatunga, Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachhi and Army Commander Lt. General Shavendra Silva undertook an observation tour to the BIA, Katunaike, earlier today.
