Parliamentary Election During Second Week Of August? - Commission To Meet Today To Discuss Election Date

The National Elections Commission will meet today to make a decision on the General Election date.

The meeting comes a day after a unanimous ruling by the Supreme Court to dismiss all FR petitions challenging the election date.

The commission, during the hearing, said it required a minimum of 60-70 days to conduct the election in compliance with health and safety guidelines.

It is expected that the commission will decide to hold the election during the second week of August.
