President Promises Setting Up Of Laboratory For PCR Tests At BIA: Passengers To Be Held In Separate Area Until Test Results Are Available

President Gotabhhaya Rajapaksa said a laboratory for PCR tests will be set up at the Bandaranike International Airport, Katunaike, to ensure the safety of all Sir Lankans returning home.

The President said passengers would be held in a separate area before immigration until test results are received.

Rajapaksa said this would minimize the impact on quarantine centres and hospitals.

While making this announcement, the President reiterated his committed to ensuring the repatriation of all Sri Lankans wishing to return home.
