Rosy Says "Certain Group" Attempting To Oust Her: "I Will Not Leave Office Unless I Fail To Pass Council Budget"

Colombo Mayor Rosy Senanayake said she had no plan to step down form office.

Speaking to a newspaper, Senanayake said a certain group was seeking to oust her, but their attempts would become futile.

The Mayor asserted that she would only step down from office if she failed to pass a budget at the council.

Senanayake's son Kanishka Senanayake is contesting the parliamentary election under the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, led by former Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa.

The Mayor, however, has made it clear that she will not support her son's election campaign.
