AG Instructs Acting IGP To Record Statements From Former President, PM and Two Others On Treasury Bonds Scam

The Attorney General has instructed the Acting IGP to record statements from four individuals including former President Maithripala Sirisena and former Prime Minister Ramil Wickremesinghe on the Treasury bonds scam.

The Police will also record statements from former Senior Advisor to the President S. Paskaralingam and former People's Bank General Manager Wasantha Kumara.

The instructions have been given to the Acting IGP in connection with the CID investigation into the bond scam.

The Police have sought INTERPOL assistance to arrest former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran in connection with the bond scam.

INPERPOL has informed Sri Lankan that Mahendran has changed his name to Arjan Alexander to avoid arrest.
