Esala Perahera In Kandy Will Take Place This Year Without Public Participation

Diyawada Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela announced that the historic Esala Perahera in Kandy would take place this year as usual.

However, he said the procession would take place without the participation of the public due to the current situation.

The government has allowed religious leaders to conduct activities in places of worship in adherence to quarantine laws.

The Esala Perahera is held annually to pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha
