The Police announced a 14-day mandatory self-quarantine for anyone refusing to wear fear masks.

The new regulation will come into effect from tomorrow, the Police announced.

The Police have resorted to strict measures as health authorities have raised concerns that the public is not paying adequate attention to health and safety measures and social distancing guidelines.

Speaking to the media yesterday. DIG Ajith Rohana said the Police would take strict action against those who do not wear masks in public.

He said the Police would take legal action against those who fail to adhere to health and safety practices announced by the Ministry of Health.

Meanwhile, movie theatres that remained close since mid-March have been reopened with strict health and safety measures.
