President Wants Rural Road Construction Projects To Continue Without Causing Environmental Damage

President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa instructed the authorities at the State Ministry of Rural Roads and Other Infrastructure to carry out consstruction without causing damage to the environment.

President Rajapaksa also told the ministry to ensure that sub-contracts are not given when carrying out constructions of rural roads across the country.

Authorities also informed the President that two million trees will be planted alongside newly-constructed roads.

The President informed his officials to take necessary measures to coordinate all state institutions and hold monthly review meetings with all stakeholders.
