Afghan President Here With A High Profile Delegation

Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai will arrive in Sri Lanka today (05) for a three day visit today along with a high profile Afghan delegation representing various sectors.

 

The Afghan President will be accompanied by his Foreign Minister, Zarar Ahmad Usmani, Deputy National Security Advisor, Dr. Rangeen Dadfar Spanta, Presidential Advisor, Yahya Marufi, Higher Education Minister, Obaidullah Obaid and Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Amena Afzali and Public Health Minister, Dr. Suraya Dalil.

The Afghan delegation is scheduled to meet several senior members of the Sri Lankan government including President Mahinda Rajapaksa. Although Karzai was scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on Sunday, his visit was postponed at the last moment due to a terrorist attack in Afghanistan.

This is Afghan President Karzai’s first official visit to Sri Lanka.
