BBS Ensures 5 Million Votes For Sinhala-Buddhist Presidential Candidate

Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) General Secretary Galagodaaththe Gnanasara thera has said that the BBS will ensure 5 million votes through 5000 temples for a candidate who will represent the Sinhala Buddhists in the upcoming presidential election.

Gnanasara thera expressed these ideas at the Bodu Bala Sena general assembly which was held in the Sugathadasa indoor stadium yesterday (28). The assembly was also attended by Burmese monk Virathu who is know for his anti-Mu

Gnanasara thera has also said that the BBS will ensure another 1.5 million votes from the Muslim and Tamil people of the North-Eastern Province.

“We are looking for a leader who is willing to step against the forces that are aiming to demolish the Buddhism and a person who considers Sri Lanka as a Sinhala-Buddhist country”, the BBS General Secretary said.

Gnanasara thera maintained that the party does not matter ‘as long as he has the right objectives’.

The BBS Genaral Secretary lashed out at all the party Leaders saying that “Mahinda Rajapaksa, Ranil Wickremesinghe and Anura Kumara Dissanayake should turn around and look at the level of destruction that has been caused to Buddhism ”

Gnanasara thera pointed out that the time has come to discard party differences and work as a single nation with a common goal of preserving Buddhism and the Sri Lankan culture.

“Our one and only leader is Lord Buddha. We are ready to change this country and we urge all the leaders to unite with one goal.” Gnanasara thera said.
