Khuram Shaikh Murder Case : Law Student Reprimanded For Taking A Picture Of Victoria

Victoria Alexandrona  the girlfriend of murdered British Aid worker Khuram Shaikh told a packed Court house today that " it was the accused who murdered Khuram. I was gang raped. There were bruises on me and severe pain on my vagina when I regained conciousness" she told court while being cross examined.

A reputed band of Defence Lawyers including Jayantha Weerasinghe PC, Kalinga Indrathissa PC, U.L De Silva and others appeared for the six accused who include the Tangalle PS Chairman,
 
During proceedings today before a packed court house, a student identified from the Law College was reprimanded by the Colombo High Court Judge Rohini Welgama for attemtping to take a picture.
 
At around 1.55 PM when the cross examination by Defence Counsel Indrathisa was going on proceedings came to an abrupt halt after the Judge had noticed a person attempting to take a phoio of her.
 
A policemen was ordered to search the person, who later identified himself as a student of the Law College. The mobile phone was then taken to the custody of the court.
 
Giving further evidence, Alexandrona pleaded with the Judge that her initial statements to the Police and the Magistrate given immediately after the murder and rape were made under sever mental stress and schock and to give due recognition to her state of mind.
