UNP MPs Attacked At Ports Authority Training School

A group of UNP parliamentarians who visited the training school of Sri Lanka Ports Authority in Slave Island have come under attack.

Speaking to Asian Mirror UNP parliamentarian Eran Wickramaratne said that they went on a fact finding mission to the Ports Authority Training School to see whether state resources were being used for the presidential election campaign.

Wickramarathne said they had received information that resources of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority were being used for propaganda activities targeting the forthcoming presidential election.

He added that several people pelted stones at the UNP MP delegation and attacked their vehicles. None of the UNP parliamentarians received injuries due to the attack. However, he added that several vehicles were damaged due to the incident.  

The UNP MP team comprised of parliamentarians Ravi Karunanayake, R Yogarajan, Nalin Bandara, Ajith P Perera and Eran Wickramaratne.
