He meeting will also attended by Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa, UPFA General Secretary Susil Premjayantha and SLFP Treasurer Dullas Alahapperuma. At the meeting, the ruling party’s response to the proposals presented by the JHU will be handed over to the JHU delegation.

The JHU Central Committee had a special meeting yesterday to discuss its way forward. Following the meeting, the committee decided to make a final decision over its support to the government after the meeting with the President today.

Meanwhile, speaking to Asian Mirror, JHU Legal Advisor Udaya Gammanpila – who was in hospital on Monday to receive medical treatment - said the JHU delegation would also include its Parliamentarian Athuraliye Rathana thera.

Rathana Thera is the convener of the Pivithuru Hetak organization which is pushing for a constitutional amendment before the presidential election.
